Robert is a plant enthusiast who is learning to be intrigued by insects.

Robert is a Plant Biology PhD student and is co-advised by Tanya Renner. He is interested in plant-insect coevolution, especially when it comes to gall-inducing insects. His research focuses on how tall goldenrod's growth and defense is influenced by the goldenrod gall fly Eurosta solidaginis. He uses molecular, chemical, and morphological methods to understand the interface of host and parasite in this "ball gall" system.
