We are your primary source for traditional materials (books, newspapers, and journals) and for digital resources, including more than 350 databases available in LIAS (Library Information Access System). LIAS integrates cutting-edge software into an evolving suite of resources and services to provide you with the most current information and services.

Library Information Access System (LIAS) is a gateway to numerous information resources for Penn State. It includes The CAT (online catalog containing the holdings of all the Penn State Libraries), indexes and abstracts, electronic journals, full text databases, a reference shelf containing tools such as dictionaries and encyclopedias, personal circulation information, access to the home pages of the various libraries within Penn State and all other Penn State campus libraries throughout the Commonwealth.

The LIAS online catalog provides many features not found in traditional card catalogs. For example, the online catalog indicates not only whether the libraries have a particular book, but also where the book is located and whether it is currently available. LIAS also enables the user to browse the libraries’ holdings in call number order without going to the shelves.

At the Lending Services site you can renew books you’ve borrowed, recall books, request books through the Interlibrary Loan, and more.

Information about all of the libraries at University Park, including their hours of operation, can be found at the libraries’ website.
