Music was performed at intervals throughout the fair and play performances and insect exhibits were held at the nearby visitor's center.
The 'Very Hungry Caterpillar' and 'The Grouchy Lady Bug' were performed by students from the State College School District. The hungry caterpillar circulated throughout the fair just before performances. The plays were interactive with the children in the audience and the performances were enjoyed by all.
Using sheets of beeswax to make candles was a very popular activity. Many colors of wax were available and each candle could be decorated with wax cutouts in a variety of insect shapes. Other favorite activities were Insect Olympics, featuring a game of pursuit 'Mothra vs. Batman'. The IPM Pesticide Putt Putt was also a popular activity and the always popular face painting tables were always busy!
