Graduate student Codey Mathis successfully defended her PhD yesterday! Codey's work centered around improving knowledge and monitoring efforts of insect biodiversity in Pennsylvania, particularly in forested ecosystems. In this work she found new state and regional records, discovered effective trapping methods for rarely encountered taxa, and quantified the relative efficacy of different commonly used insect monitoring trap types. Congratulations, Dr. Mathis!
