Camilo Flórez was recently awarded a grant from the Lewis and Clark Fund for Exploration and Field Research from the American Philosophical Society. Camilo will be exploring treehoppers (families Membracidae and Aetalionidae) in the humid-tropical forests of Mitú and Mocoa in Colombia to learn more about the mutualism between treehopper and ant communities, and how ant species’ dominance hierarchy shapes these mutualistic relationships. Congratulations, Camilo!
