April 1, 2022 Entomology Department Seminar

Rather than a formal Entomology departmental seminar this week, we would like to invite you to join us for a tour of the new Pollinator and Bird Garden at the Arboretum at Penn State.  We will introduce designed ecological habitats and the backyard and vegetable gardens. We will also tour the various water and built features.  Our main purpose is to present the rationale of the design and the goals of the garden, including the role of research and education, extension and outreach.

Presentors: Harland Patch, Director of Pollinator Programming at the Arboretum at Penn State and Heather Desorcie, Insect Biodiversity Center Education Program Specialist

Coffee and snacks will be available at 9:30 and the tour will start at 10am. Please meet at the wild bee hotels. In addition to the plants, we will meet at the honey bee colonies and the wild bee hotels in the garden.

For more details, please contact Heather Desorcie at hud192@psu.edu
