Research
Research in the Department of Entomology spans many areas of interest. Research topics can address domestic or international problems, help solve immediate needs, or be more fundamental in nature and are interdisciplinary, encompassing disciplines such as biology, genetics, ecology, evolution, behavior, IPM, chemical ecology, and many others.

Many research programs are also linked with the University's institute structure, allowing access to faculty and facilities across the campus.
- Areas of Research
- The strength of our research resides in three main program themes: Chemical Ecology, Ecological Applications, and Disease Biology and Ecology. Faculty are listed by their research area(s).
- Current Research Projects
- Our research projects focus on many diverse topics ranging from the critical honey bee issue (Colony Collapse Disorder) to cutting-edge malaria research.
- Research Centers and Institutes
- Our research centers represent a collaboration of students and faculty working to solve real-world problems with partners in academia from across the University, the nation, and the world. In addition, several faculty are members of the University-wide institutes.
