The Mid-Atlantic Berry Guide provides general information on preplant considerations, soil management and nutrition, and pest management, as well as specific information for planting strawberries, blueberries, brambles, gooseberries, and currants. Additional sources of information are also given.

This guide is produced by Penn State in cooperation with Rutgers University, the University of Delaware, the University of Maryland, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia University.

Who is this for?

Commercial berry growers within the Mid-Atlantic region.

Homeowners may use this publication for background information; however, many of the recommendations assume that the production is on a large scale and that producers have a commercial pesticide applicator’s license.

When you purchase a digital publication, you will have unlimited access to the publication from your account in My Educational Content > Downloadable Pulications. However, you can only access the version you purchased. If a new edition is released, you will need to purchase the new version to have access to the new version.

Can I share a digital or publication with multiple people?

No. We are sorry, but digital publications cannot be shared with multiple people.

How much is shipping on print publications?

Shipping is dependent on the weight of the publication as well as the quantity ordered. You will receive an accurate quote for shipping during checkout and prior to completing your purchase.

When will my print publication arrive?

You will receive a delivery date estimate after you check out, and a tracking link when your order has been shipped.

A publication I want to purchase is out of stock. What should I do?
