The Schilder Laboratory at the Penn State University Departments of Entomology & Biology is seeking graduate students interested in understanding mechanisms that control phenotypic plasticity in insect locomotion and metabolism.

Projects in the lab are highly integrative in nature and often have interesting links to biomedical problems. This is an opportunity to be broadly trained in areas of electrophysiology and biomechanics, behavioral ecology, ecological and molecular physiology, and broad sense functional genomics.

Current areas of research

A start date no later than Fall 2015 (early Summer 2015 if possible) is preferred. Interested students should contact Ruud Schilder ( directly.
