Applying to the Program

List of requirements

The process of applying for admission to graduate school at Penn State requires the following application materials:

(All should be submitted online to The Graduate School.)

  1. An official GRADUATE SCHOOL APPLICATION. The Department of Entomology will pay for the application fee. (Please contact our office for the fee waiver code.)
  2. Official transcript
  3. Test scores – please check the Graduate School for details
  4. Three letters of recommendation
  5. Statement of purpose (Describe your motivation, goals and preparation for graduate study)

The GRADUATE SCHOOL APPLICATION must be submitted in electronic format.

If you have read the specific requirements for Entomology, please proceed to Graduate School Admissions Portal

NOTE: Please do not submit information with your application that cannot be used in the admission decision process, e.g., Individual Education Plans (IEPs), medical records, statements from physicians or psychologists, or legal documents. Such information will be returned by your intended program of study.
