- Please join us as we host Nico Franz from the University of Kansas for his presentation titled "Designing Biodiversity Knowledge Communities"
Dr. Nico Franz is evolutionary biologist and insect systematist who specializes in the diverse, plant-feeding lineage of weevils. His research program also focuses on developing innovative biocollections infrastructure and biodiversity data science services. At the University of Kansas, he serves as the Krishtalka Director of the Biodiversity Institute & Natural History Museum. He is also an academic leader of the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) Biorepository at Arizona State University and the principal investigator of the iDigBio Symbiota Support Hub, which sustains more than 2,000 collections and 95 million global occurrence records (https://symbiota.org/).
