Lucio is a Molecular Entomologist with interests in insect-plant interactions and insect-microbial symbiosis. Currently, he is a Research Fellow in the Department of Molecular Biosciences at the University of Texas at Austin. His research focuses on designing genetic tools for engineering insect symbionts to advance various applications, including insect symbiosis research and gene function analysis. Lucio's current efforts are centered on developing and enhancing symbiont-mediated RNA interference (RNAi) systems for the Western honeybee and other agriculturally significant insects.
