Undergraduate Students
The Department of Entomology offers a minor in Entomology for undergraduate students and many courses on entomological topics such as insect diversity, identification, management, apiculture, and biology.

Matthew Gardner, graduating senior from the College of Ag Sciences, was awarded the Douglas G. and Regina C. Evans Award for Research Achievement from the Schreyer's Honors College for his Honor's thesis produced under the supervision of Dr. Kelli Hoover, Associate Professor of Entomology.
- Entomology Minor
- The Entomology minor requires 18 credits in approved courses, in addition to the major requirements of the students' choice. Appropriate course substitutions may be considered with minor adviser approval. Program coordinator is Dr. Michael Saunders (Email: mcs5@psu.edu)
- Agroecology Major
- This interdepartmental major combines knowledge in plant and ecosystem sciences and sustainable agriculture with highly developed information management and problem-solving skills. The Program Coordinator is Dr. Paul Backman. (Email: pab10@psu.edu)
- 200- and 300-Level Courses
- These introductory level courses in entomology provide the foundation for a broad understanding and appreciation of insects and other arthropods.
- 400-Level Courses
- These upper level courses often have prerequisites, and are available to graduate students and advanced undergraduates.
