Malaria is one of the most important parasitic diseases globally, infecting between 300 and 500 million people and killing more than one million each year. Activities within the malaria group encompass both fundamental and applied research building from molecular level studies of malaria developmental biology, through studies on the effects of environmental factors on the mosquito-parasite interaction, to research aimed at developing novel interventions for sustainable malaria control.
