Tooker lab members attend, present their research, and win awards at EntSoc 2014

Posted: December 4, 2014

The Annual Meeting of the Entomological Society of America was held in Portland, OR, 16-19 Nov 2014. Seven lab members attended for a few days of scientific presentations, networking, and good fun. A few of our folks even walked away with some nice awards.

Lab members had a very good time attending EntSoc 2014 in Portland.  What a great city; we adequately sampled food and beverages at a variety of locations including Base Camp Brewing.  (The Korean cheesesteak available at the food trucks outside Base Camp was particularly remarkable.)

Two graduate students in the lab won President Prizes for Best Talks in their sections:
-Anthony Vaudo - First Place
-Ian Grettenberger - Second Place

Eric Bohnenblust, PhD won the J. H. Comstock Award winner for outstanding PhD student.

Anthony Vaudo was also awarded one of the 2014 AFRI Travel Grants to attend the meeting.
