Understanding the impact of sublethal exposure to pesticides on bee colony health

Dave Goulson is professor of biology at University of Sussex, and has published more than 200 papers on the ecology of insects, many of them on bumblebees. He is author of Bumblebees, their behaviour, ecology and evolution (2010, Oxford University Press) and A Sting in the Tale (2013, Jonathan Cape), the latter being a popular science book about bumblebees. He founded the Bumblebee Conservation trust in 2006, which now has 12 staff and 8,000 members. He was BBSRC "Social Innovator of the Year" in 2011 and was awarded the Marsh Prize for Conservation Biology in 2013.
