Our graduate program in Entomology is ranked among the best. The National Research Council (NRC) ranked the Department's program in the top 10% in their survey that was released September, 2010. Our Department was also ranked among the top 10 graduate programs at Penn State. The NRC rankings were based upon data from 2005 and 2006.
 
Although we have good reason to be proud of these rankings, we are especially excited with what has happened since 2006. We have hired nine faculty members from the best programs in the world. Since 2006, our faculty publication rates have tripled, our graduate student population has doubled, and our total extramural funding is exceeding $24.4 million for 2012. The opportunities with Penn State Entomology have never been brighter.
