2008 Emerald Ash Borer Survey Results
Survey Results (11/24/08):
From late May through August 2008 purple panel sticky traps were suspended in ash trees in 35 Pennsylvania counties. The traps were deployed in 1.5 square mile grids as indicated by a national survey protocol for the EAB. These purple panel sticky traps were strictly visual ones that had no chemical attractants associated with them. Entomologists with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture identified thousands of adult beetles collected from these traps. They report as a result of this intensive survey there were no new locations determined for the emerald ash borer in Pennsylvania.
