Garrett received his B.S. in Biology with a Minor in Entomology in 2014, and a M.S. in Entomology in 2017, both from Purdue University. He is broadly interested in the microbiology of pest insects and their impacts on IPM practices. His current research projects include examining the relationship of Annual Bluegrass Weevil (ABW) microbiology and their pyrethroid resistance, the impacts of host plant on the internal microbiology of ABW, and the interactions of ABW microbiota, DMI fungicides, and pyrethroids
